Mission

At PACE Therapeutic Services, I am dedicated to nurturing holistic well-being across the lifespan.  My goal is to empower people to achieve their personal and professional goals which improves overall quality of life.

Approach

As a mental health professional, I work with individuals and families facing challenges related to mental health across various life stages—from perinatal through childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood. I employ a range of evidence-based techniques including cognitive and dialectical behavioural therapeutic approaches to assist people in overcoming negative thought patterns and fostering positive behaviour changes.

In-person sessions are offered in Nobleton, Ontario conveniently located just north of Toronto, Ontario Canada; 7 minutes from Bolton, 30 minutes from  Brampton, Newmarket and Toronto.

Virtual sessions are offered to anyone across Ontario through OnCall Health. You will be able access virtual services from the comfort of your own home or office, or even on the go, via most computer or mobile devices with a stable Internet connection, using Google Chrome. OnCall Health is a Canadian company that is committed to complete privacy between healthcare providers and their clients, powers video sessions.

About Theresa Faubert

As a registered psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience, I have dedicated my practice to supporting individuals and families. My areas of specialization include child, youth, perinatal, and adult mental health conditions. Drawing from ecological, relational, and attachment science and research, I strive to enhance relationships that promote overall well-being.

I hold specialized training and certifications in cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, Theraplay, perinatal mental health, family therapy, and concurrent disorders.

As a therapist, my clinical philosophy centers around authenticity. No jargon, no pretence—just genuine collaboration. Together, we explore patterns and beliefs that may hinder progress. By embracing effective tools and strategies, I strive for optimal results. Authenticity isn’t just showing up; it’s being true to oneself and fostering connections. I aim to inspire trust and encourage my clients to do the same.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The cost at PACE Therapeutic Services varies depending on the type of service you need. Individual services range from $70.00 for 30-minute sessions, $125.00 for 50-minute sessions, and $180.00 for 90 minute family sessions.  Please reach out directly to discuss  fees.

PACE Therapeutic Services provides a range of early intervention and treatment services to children, youth, families, and adults, addressing concerns related to emotional well-being and challenging behaviours. Together we design a treatment plan unique to individual needs.

The frequency of counseling sessions with PACE Therapeutic Services will depend on your individual needs and goals. Some people may benefit from weekly sessions, while others may attend bi-weekly or monthly.

A meet-and-greet is a complimentary 15-minute in-person or virtual meeting.  It is an opportunity to ask any questions of your therapist and determine whether your therapist is a "good fit" for you.

Knowing what to expect during your first therapy session can help you feel more prepared. Your first session is often about you and your therapist getting to know one another, determining if the therapist is a good fit for your needs, and going over what you want to accomplish in therapy.

PACE therapeutic services requests 24 hours notice for cancelling an appointment. In these uncertain times, the cancellation policy is less stringent as it is anticipated if you are feeling unwell, the appointment will be cancelled, you will wear a surgical mask, or the appointment can pivot to virtual.  If the appointment is not cancelled, you may be charged 50% of the session fee.

Counselling tends to be shorter term, goal-oriented, and it addresses concrete, specific life challenges. By contrast, therapy tends to be longer term, more exploratory and holistic, and it treats mental illness. Counsellors often specialize in a specific area, such as marriage, addiction, grief, or abuse.

In Ontario, only certain regulated professionals are allowed to use the title “psychotherapist.” These include registrants of the:

  • College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
  • College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Being a member of a regulatory College means that your therapist is dedicated to  protecting the public.

Having good rapport with your therapist is the most important factor in determining the outcome of therapy. But before you can establish rapport, you need to find a therapist who is likely to be a good match for your needs.

Here are some questions to ask as you consider working with a therapist:

  • What's your training (what certifications or degrees do you hold)?
  • How long have you worked in this field?
  • What kinds of treatment or therapy do you think might help me?
  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches?
  • How does the treatment work?
  • What are the chances that treatment will succeed?
  • How soon should I start feeling better?
  • How will we assess my progress?
  • What should I do if I don't feel better?

By taking note of the therapist's responses, you should get some sense of what the therapist is like and whether you will be able to establish a good working relationship.

Recognizing your worth, speaking up for yourself, setting boundaries, prioritizing self-care, building a support system, educating yourself, practicing assertiveness, learning from your mistakes, embracing your imperfections, and celebrating your successes are all healthy ways to advocate for yourself.
